Corrosion in heating and water systems

Corrosion in heating and water systems is a real problem.
That is why the right choice of material is so important.

Carbon steel (especially non-galvanized) can be electrochemically and crevice corroded – especially under conditions of variable humidity and low pH of water.

Even stainless steel, if installed improperly or in prolonged contact with an aggressive medium, can corrode.

Brass, used in Wigell components:
• provides a natural anti-corrosion barrier thanks to the presence of copper,
• does not require additional coatings,
• maintains structural stability for years,
• It is easy to regenerate and process.

For investments that are to operate maintenance-free for decades – material matters.
